Embracing God's Care, Close Presence, and Unending Joy
Hello, beloved! I’m Elder Sarita Bernadette, and I warmly welcome you back to Joy in Every Step.
Today, I want to remind you that no matter where you are—on the mountaintop or in the valley—you are never alone. God cares for you deeply; He is near, and there is joy waiting for you in every part of life’s journey. Let’s anchor ourselves in God's Word today with a powerful verse from Colossians: "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
— Colossians 3:17 (NLT)This scripture is more than words—it's a divine calling and a promise that our daily actions, small or large, matter to God and can be a source of joy when performed with gratitude and purpose.
God Cares — A Personal Testimony of Faith and Prophetic Calling
Beloved, I want to share a personal story that has shaped my faith and teaches us about God's unwavering care. Back in 1998, during a revival in my city, I was part of my church choir, and God used that moment to initiate a profound turn in my life. One evening, a man of God spoke prophetic words over the congregation, and I clearly heard him call out, "Young lady, you will preach the gospel and share the Word with many around the world." I was stunned. I felt the Lord was speaking directly to me, even amidst my doubts and fears. As he pointed into the crowd, I looked around—my friends called my name, exclaiming, “It’s you, Sarita!” The crowd parted as the man of God approached me, confirming what I felt in my heart—that God had a divine purpose for my life. Now, at the time, I had no idea how such a calling could be fulfilled, especially amid the limitations of 1998—the age of slow dial-up internet and cassette tapes. Yet, I understood that our God is omniscient—He knows what the future holds. That prophetic moment was a gentle nudge from the Lord, reminding me of His care and His plan for my life. Over time, despite resistance born of fear, I embraced the call. Remember, beloved:
God does not call the qualified—He qualifies those He calls. We see this truth in 2 Corinthians 3:5
Which reminds us that our qualification comes from God, not ourselves. Today, I stand grateful—for His patience, His mercy, and the gift of walking in His calling. Psalm 107:1 echoes this truth: "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His steadfast love endures forever."
